Bausch & Lomb says named in 573 ReNu Lawsuits- Reuters 10/22/2007 - Bausch & Lomb Inc said on Monday that as of Oct. 16 it has been named as a defendant in about 573 product liability lawsuits stemming from its recalled ReNu contact lens cleaning solution. The Rochester, New York-based company said in a regulatory disclosure that the lawsuits were filed in various federal and state courts as well as in certain other non-U.S. jurisdictions. The lawsuits include 550 individual actions filed on behalf of individuals who claim they suffered personal injury as a result of using a ReNu solution, and a federally filed consolidated class action.
